And look what I did for you.

Who's ericlin?

lolol. You're getting spammers now. Your blog must be really popular.

Aww thanks for putting my picks on your blog. I feel special.

I just like to take note of my friends' picks. (whenever Rocky Balboa releases, I'll expect FISTs). This selection process is just unbearably irresistable.... I can't resist it.

That's sweet of you to care for your friends' picks.

Wow. I gave Marie Antoinette 6 nods? I didn't know I liked it that much.

I need to rewatch that movie. Then maybe I'll add Sofia to the directors line up.

Well, it had all those technical awards, something like Scoop wouldn't have a chance in those categories.

The Gonch said...

Yes. Yes it did.

I really struggled in the original screenplay category btw. There wasn't anything I was that impressed with. The last three of that category are just space fillers.

FREAK said...

You hated The Fountain's screenplay that much eh?

The Gonch said...

I didn't hate it THAT much. It could have been so much better, is all I'm saying.

And I wasn't the only one:

"The screenplay is on the wrong track as well, attempting a personal look over time that ultimately fails to provide any real human characteristics..." Mr_Chopin

"This film is one of my favourites of last year but it is flawed and that does come in the main from the script." The_Shepster

FREAK said...

Shepster praises The Queen's script. His opinion is out, obviously.

The Gonch said...

Alright, I don't need The_Shepster. I got Mr_Chopin.

"Despite being far-fetched and having an entirely undeveloped plotline, which in turn hurts its main goals, The Fountain is a personal film."

This is like exactly what I said. I'm so happy that Mr_Chopin feels this way.

*cut my heart open*

I might have been overrated it a bit too much.... but my opinion's not changing. :)

This is one of those films that you can totally overrate despite its many flaws. So yeah, keep loving it by all means.

Riding Alone for Thousands of Miles last year also. Overly sentimental ending, emotions a tad bit forced, but still 9/10 and I do nothing but say good things about it. So yeah, you're absolutely right. I think the only masterpieces of the 2005 + 2006 are The New World, Three Times, Miami Vice, and Marie Antoinette.

The Gonch said...

Or any of those last couple of Zhang movies for that matter. I mean House of Flying Daggers? Ridiculous. But I love it.

Obviously, my masterpieces are a lot different than yours, but I think I would include Miami Vice in there too.

He definitely needs someone to revise his recent endings, but I hardly think he was trying to make a masterpiece with any of his latest pictures, what they did manage to do is satisfy the audience consistently, he's done more this decade than most people give him credit for.

That was me. Class.

Ttyl.

The Gonch said...

Agreed.

I'm going to bed though. golden_hawk made me stay up til 5 am yesterday, and now I am tired.

FREAK said...

Glad you took off Shortbus. :)

golden_hawk said...

A look a little queer without the golden, don't I?

golden_hawk said...

"A" = "I"

Yay, Freak, looks like I trust you. [/injoke]

Bo, that grade I told you about that I goofed up on, I got it back. Ha. Teacher's mistake.

golden_hawk said...

Whoa. Really?

That's cool, I bet you'd lost all your hope by now.
